For the third straight year, police officers, sheriff’s deputies, Arkansas State Troopers and firefighters were treated to a free lunch thanks to Emergency Ambulance Service Inc. (EASI) and Foster’s Wrecker.
“We do this to show our appreciation to the local law enforcement officers for all the help they give us day and night,” said John Bishop, CEO of EASI.
Barbecue and all the trimmings were on the menu for the luncheon, which was held at EASI’s offices on West Fifth Ave.
Bishop said Pine Bluff Downtown Development provided the deserts and representatives of Southeast Arkansas College were on hand with information about scholarships for public safety officers.
“The folks at Foster’s do the cooking every year,” Bishop said. “We had live music and the Hog, 91.1 (FM) was here doing a live radio remote.”
According to Bishop, more than 200 people were fed during the event, which also featured drawings for two $50 gift certificates and a camo hat.
