Grace Willing Workers met June 13 at the White Hall Museum. President Linda Works welcomed nine members and a visitor.

Vice President Dianna Maxwell led the homemaker’s creed. Marion Shorey read the handy hint and the inspiration was read by Delois Dilbeck. The roll was called by answering the question: “Name one item needed in a disaster kit?”

Last month’s minutes and the by-laws meeting held May 30 minutes were read and approved. The bylaws are in for a final edit. The treasurer’s report was filed for audit.

The Program: Family Disaster Kits was presented by Sabrina Self Gwin who was assisted by members Sophia Gwin and Sarah Gwin. Self Gwin listed many items needed for a disaster kit and any special needs such as illness taken into consideration. Sophia Gwin and Sarah Gwin presented each member with their own disaster kit.

Special Leader reports:

Dot Hart reported that the group earned $100 at their fund-raising bake and craft sale held June 2 at the Farmer’s Market. Hart reported this month’s contribution to Hope Resource Center was $10.74.

Marynell Cardin reminded members that Christmas in July will be held July 26. The club is working registration.

Hart and Works reported on attending the state meeting. They saw several craft demos and membership ideas. Hart reported on a “Live Well” from family and consumer sciences. They distributed the workshops available for the AEHC Retreat Workshops.

Old Business: Shorey reported a change in the date to go to Hummingbird Banding to Aug. 4. The club will meet at the museum at 9 a.m. and each member should bring a sack lunch.

New Business: Works appointed a nominating committee: Hart, Sheila Childers, and Shorey. Works closed the meeting with the Homemaker’s Prayer.

Reminders: A club workshop will be held June 28 from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Grace Willing Workers meet at the White Hall Museum on the second Wednesday of each month at 10 a.m.
