The 60th annual Arkansas Cattlemen’s Association (ACA) Convention & Trade Show will be held at the State House Convention Center at Little Rock.

The trade show will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Aug. 3-4. Registration begins at 8 a.m. Aug. 3. The event is open to the general public.

“During the convention, cattlemen across Arkansas meet to enjoy enlightening cattlemen’s college information sessions, industry updates and cattlemen-to-cattlemen fellowship,” according to a news release. “The ACA also hosts Arkansas’s Largest Farm & Ranch Show, where cattlemen and women can meet with business leaders from all sectors of the industry.”

Events include live music by John England & The Western Swingers on Friday evening, Arkansas Junior Cattlemen’s Leadership Conference on Saturday and the ACA Awards Banquet Saturday evening. The convention concludes Sunday morning with an inspirational breakfast.

“For anyone interested in learning more about the beef industry, educational seminars will be conducted throughout the day on Friday and Saturday by a full line up of featured guests including: Shane Gadberry with the U of A Division of Agriculture, Chase Groves with Arkansas Grazing Land Coalition, Greenway Equipment’s Jason Kinzey and Steve Shepard, Steve Merritt with Venture Equipment and Boehringer Ingelheim’s Dr. DL Step, DVM,” according to the release.

The general session on Saturday will feature Daniel Thomson of Kansas State University.

“If you are looking for some family fun, then don’t miss Cowboy Capers, the exciting relay that finds out who is the ultimate ranch hand,” according to the release.

Cowboy Capers is open to all ages. Teams of two will compete in a race against time in events such as Wheel Barrow Races and Calf Dummy Roping. The event begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
