The Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas, 701 S. Main St., will host the following upcoming events:

July 6 — Live@5

Live@5 will feature musician Milt Jackson from 5-7 p.m. Friday, July 6. Live@5 features live music the first Friday of each month. The cost of the event is $5 for members and $10 for non-members. The event is for guests 21 or older and is sponsored by M.K. Distributors Inc., according to a news release.

July 13-14 — “It’s Not Ugly…It’s Art!”

The Arts & Science Center will host “It’s Not Ugly…It’s Art!” at 2 p.m. Friday and Saturday, July 13-14. Tickets are $8 for students and $12 for adults. In the play, Max winds up with a Picasso stuck on his head and finds it difficult to woo his secret love. The junior play production is by students of “The Stage” Theatre Makerspace Summer Camp, according to a news release. Simmons Bank is the sponsor. July 14 - Second Saturday Family FunDay

Second Saturday Family FunDay: Crafting a Character will be held from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, July 14. It is sponsored by Discovery Network and the Pine Bluff Area Community Foundation. ASC’s FunDay program offers monthly hands-on arts and science activities in which visitors create art, complete science projects, or perform dance, music, or theater. Activities complement current art or science exhibitions. Activities are free and led by visiting artists, local art educators, and ASC staff.

July 26-29 - Sister Act, The Musical

The center will present Sister Act, The Musical, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, July 26-28, and 2 p.m. Sunday, July 29. The director is Lindsey Collins and the music director is Andee Book. Tickets are $18 for members, $22 for non-members, and $10 for students. The play depicts Deloris Van Cartier, an aspiring singer in Philadelphia, who is auditioning to perform at her gangster boyfriend’s nightclub. She accidentally sees him kill one of his cronies and runs to the police, who place her in hiding at a convent until the boyfriend is brought to trial. Details: 870-536-3375 or

Yoga for Kids — is free Saturdays from 10:15-11 a.m. for ages 7 and up (adult chaperones can join too.) Participants should dress comfortably.

“Swing, Art, and All That Jazz” — a free swing dance camp will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 30 through Aug. 3. Special guest instructor Nick Davis will lead the camp for 7th-9th graders. If selected, this camp is provided free. Details: Leonor Colbert at or 870-536-3375.

In The Galleries — Pine Bluff High School Annual Art Exhibition is open until Saturday, July 7.
