The Delta Leadership Institute (DLI) Executive Academy class of 2018-2019 is accepting applications through Monday, July 16, according to a newsletter from Delta Regional Authority.
The class will include 40 fellows dedicated to improving their communities.
“We’re looking for public servants from the private, non-profit and public sectors to grow into strong leaders ready to serve the Delta,” a spokesman said.
The Executive Academy takes fellows to communities in each of DRA’s eight states to experience and learn from the leaders and communities building new models of development that are succeeding. The 2018-2019 class will first meet in Memphis the week of Oct. 29. Sessions include visits to Vicksburg, Miss., New Orleans, La., the Alabama Black Belt, Cape Girardeau, Mo., and Carbondale, Ill. Graduation is scheduled for August 2019 at Lake Barkley, Ky.
Applications are due July 16 and must include a professional headshot, short biography, resume, and three letters of recommendation (two from elected officials and one from a non-elected community leader).
