The Arkansas Department of Correction will graduate 138 cadets from its Basic Correctional Officer Training program at 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 13, at White Hall Community Center, 9801 Dollarway Road.
ADC Director Wendy Kelley will be the graduation speaker. According to a news release, this graduation will be the largest in the department’s history.
The program includes 240 hours, or six weeks, of training which meets the accreditation standards of the American Correctional Association, as well as the training needs of the department, according to the release.
Following training, new officers are required to complete at least 40 hours of on-the-job training with a field training officer before being placed on a post, or assignment.
