A kick-off ceremony will be held to mark the official start of renovation of a 33,000-square-foot family medical center for the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences’ South Central Regional Campus in the Jefferson Professional Building II.

UAMS and Jefferson Regional Medical Center will host the celebration at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, at the Jefferson Professional Building II, West 40th Avenue and Mulberry Street.

The remodeled $6 million facility will provide space for the consolidation of three clinics and for the growth and enhancement of patient care programs and medical education, according to a news release.

Officials will include UAMS Chancellor Cam Patterson, M.D.; Mark Deal, UAMS South Central Regional Campus director; Sterling Moore, vice chancellor of UAMS Regional Campuses; Brian Thomas, JRMC’s chief executive officer; and Toni Middleton, M.D., UAMS South Central Residency Program director.
