Entergy Arkansas made a donation to the Area Agency on Aging Tuesday afternoon at the agency’s 709 E. 8th Ave location in an effort to help maximize the reach of their annual fan drive.

A check for $1,000 was presented to the Area Agency on Aging by customer service representative Tongia Gaston on behalf of Entergy.

“The check today is being presented as a part of their Beat the Heat program,” Gaston said. “They give fans to their clients and we’re just helping them be able to do that project.”

Director of Fiscal Operations for the agency, Kathy Tynes, accepted the check and expressed her gratitude for the donation.

“I would like to thank Entergy for giving us the check today to complete our Beat the Heat fan drive in other counties like Drew County, Bradley, Arkansas County, and also Jefferson,” said Officer of Community Services Carolyn Ferguson, who was alongside Tynes on Tuesday to receive the check.
