The Pine Bluff City Council on Monday will consider a resolution that will allow the city to issue promissory notes for the construction and installation of equipment for the new Aquatic Center.

In a light agenda, the only other item to be considered will be a proposed ordinance to close a part of West 10th Avenue from Blake Street to Fig Street.

During a meeting of the council’s Development and Planning Commission on Tuesday, the proposal was discussed and Alderman Bill Brumett said he had recently spent two hours on the street and saw only one car use it.

Brumett, Alderman Glen Brown Jr. and Alderwoman Thelma Walker, the other members of the committee, were unanimous in agreeing to sponsor the ordinance, which will be up for a first reading.

The council meets at 5:30 p.m. in council chambers.
