MOUNTAIN VIEW — Two time Grammy Award-winning blues musician Taj Mahal will perfrom at the Ozark Folk Center State Park at Mountain View at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28.

The blues legend’s performance is part of the park’s Celebrity Concert Series at the Ozark Folk Center’s 1,000-seat music theater, according to a news release.

The center was recently voted “Venue of the Year” at the 2018 Arkansas CMA Awards.

The performance will be recorded for the fourth season of the Ozark Highlands Radio, a publicly syndicated radio program produced at the park and carried by affiliates across the country, according to the release.

“Taj Mahal has been stretching the boundaries of blues music over the course of five decades, fusing elements of African and Caribbean rhythms into his unique style of American roots blues. Last year, he was awarded ‘Album of the Year’ and ‘Best Contemporary Blues Album,’ alongside recording artist Keb Mo, for their collaborative album entitled ‘Taj Mo.’ Taj Mahal continues to tour across the U.S. and produce great music for fans after being inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame nearly 10 years ago,” according to the release.

Taj Mahal is among 30 nationally-touring performers to play at the Ozark Folk Center this season. Also performing in September are string virtuosos and folk music performers Newberry & Verch on Friday, Sept. 21. Tickets are $12 for adults, $7 for children 7-12.

Tickets for the Taj Mahal Trio are priced between $30-$40. For tickets at either concert, visit Details: or 870-269-3851.
