The Delta Sigma Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. will host a welcome reception for Superintendent Jeremy Owoh, Ed.D, who was recently appointed to head the Pine Bluff School District.
The event will be held from 5-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, at the Area Agency on Aging’s Strachota Senior Center, 801 E. Eighth Ave. The public is invited to meet and greet Owoh, according to a news release.
Owoh was assistant commissioner of educator effectiveness and licensure for the Arkansas Department of Education before he was chosen as Pine Bluff superintendent.
He is also the Arkansas District Director of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and is a member of the Epsilon Alpha Lambda Chapter.
“Dr. Owoh began his career in 2003 as an English teacher at Parkview Magnet High School,” according to the release. “He served as dean of students at Mills University Studies High School in Pulaski County and was named the assistant principal at Ridgeroad Middle School in North Little Rock.
“He served as principal at Fuller Middle School in Pulaski County Special School District before being named principal at J.A. Fair Systems Magnet High School in Little Rock. Dr. Owoh has been the assistant superintendent of curriculum/instruction and desegregation at Jacksonville North Pulaski School District,” according to the release.
