For the third year, Pine Bluff Fire and Emergency Services firefighters will be wearing pink t-shirts in support of Breast Cancer Awareness in October.
“This has been a huge success each year we have done this,” said Chief Shauwn Howell.
Firefighters are allowed to wear their pink t-shirts on duty. They are also allowed to wear pink hats and wristbands if they choose.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month, also referred to in America as National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, is an annual international health campaign organized by major breast cancer charities every October to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure.
The campaign also offers information and support to those affected by breast cancer.
Breast cancer awareness month is a yearly campaign that intend educate people about the importance of early screening, test and more. This campaign starts on Oct. 1 and ends on Oct. 31 every year.
