The Pine Bluff branch of the NAACP will present its 27th NAACP Dove Freedom Fund Banquet at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, at the Pine Bluff Convention Center.

The keynote speaker will be the Rev. Christopher B. Davis Sr., D.Min., senior pastor of St. Paul Baptist Church at Memphis and the Clara Scott Associate Dean of Doctoral Studies at Memphis Theological Seminary.

The featured speaker, Davis, is also a member of the board for the Rise Foundation, the Board of Trustees of Lemoyne-Owen College, and the Board of Trustees at West Africa Theological Seminary, Lagos, Nigeria, where he also serves as an adjunct preaching professor,” according to a news release.

A native of Proctor (Crittenden County), Davis earned Bachelor of Arts degrees from the University of Arkansas and Arkansas Baptist College. He earned the Master of Arts in Religion degree from Memphis Theological Seminary, according to the release.

Davis received his Doctorate of Ministry degree with special emphasis on Preaching and Leadership in June 2007 from the United Theological Seminary at Dayton, Ohio.

He also studied at Regents Park College at the University of Oxford at Oxford, England. He also holds the honorary Doctorate of Divinity degree from Arkansas Baptist College.

Davis is married to Rhonda Richardson Davis and has five children, Christopher II, Jaden, Allie, Jenna and Savanna.
