Downtown Pine Bluff was a sea of black and gold Saturday morning as the annual University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Homecoming parade marched its way down Main Street.

Kicking off the last day of the university’s Homecoming celebration, the parade drew a large crowd of spectators to its route beginning at Martin Street, and spilling onto Main Street and Barraque Street by the time 9 a.m. came around.

The Homecoming parade featured floats carrying UAPB Chancellor Laurence Alexander, Student Government Association, the 2018-19 royal court, the graduating class of 1948, and Miss Alumni, with the school’s band and spirit team following behind.

The parade was led by Watson Chapel’s JROTC program.

Near the parade’s end, food trucks offered passersby barbecue while other vendors walked the length of the parade route toting cotton candy and homecoming t-shirts. Pre-game activities began at Simmons Bank Field shortly after the parade ended.
