Local artist Markeith Woods will host an art show from 12-4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 22, at Indigo Blue Coffeehouse, 212 West Barraque St., one block west of the Jefferson County Courthouse at Pine Bluff.

Woods, who teaches at Dollarway High School, is a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.

His art background is extensive, a spokeswoman said. His artistic talents include photography, drawings, painting and logo sketching. He is also an art consultant and has experience as a video producer. Since 2012, he has had numerous group and solo exhibitions and his accomplishments have garnered him dozens of awards from such groups like the Pine Bluff Art League, Arkansas Arts Council, and UAPB, the spokeswoman said.

More recently, he was selected to exhibited at the Freedom and Blues Folk Art Show in Pine Bluff. His show at Indigo Blue will include a collection of his most popular drawings and paintings. The owner of Indigo Blue, Maryann Lee, said that “Markeith is a tremendous talent and we are happy to have him show his work at our little establishment.”

Woods’ work will be available for purchase and Lee said they’ll make very good Christmas gifts. This event is free and open to the public.
