A $10,000 cash-only bond was set Tuesday for a Pine Bluff man accused of failing to provide a correct address on his sex offender registration form.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Timothy Evans, 51, with failure to register as a sex offender.

According to a probable cause affidavit from Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Camisha Marks, Evans went to the Sheriff’s Office on Nov. 11 to complete his semi-annual reporting requirement paperwork. On that paperwork, he listed an address in the 7700 block of Old Warren Road. A sheriff’s employee who handled the paperwork heard Evans of the phone giving directions to someone to a different location on Fabry Road.

On Dec. 18, the Sheriff’s Office was notified by a parole officer that two officers had gone to the residence on Old Warren Road and spoke to the homeowner. After initially telling officers that Evans lived there, she corrected that to say that he did not live there all the time.

Sheriff’s investigators located Evans at a camper on Fabry Road on Friday and he told them he had a camper on Old Warren Road, where he has lived, and said he has been living in the camper on Fabry Road for a few weeks.

A hold has been placed on Evans by the Arkansas Department of Community Corrections pending a hearing.
