The Downtown Pine Bluff Rotary Club and West Pine Bluff Rotary Club will host their 37th annual Industry Appreciation Day luncheon at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, at the Pine Bluff Country Club.
The speaker at the joint Rotary meeting will be Bentley Story, director of the business development division of the Arkansas Economic Development Commission (AEDC), according to a newsletter from the Pine Bluff Regional Chamber of Commerce.
Industry Appreciation Day acknowledges the investments and jobs provided by Jefferson County’s manufacturing, distribution and technology-based operations. Chief executives and plant managers from local companies are given a special invitation to attend as Rotary’s guests, according to the newsletter.
“Beginning at AEDC in 2007 as a project manager, Story worked with companies such as Hewlett-Packard, Dillard’s and Kimberly-Clark. He was promoted in 2012 to his current position overseeing the work of a professional team of project managers responsible for recruiting new business to Arkansas and helping existing businesses grow,” according to the newsletter.
Story is a Forrest City native. Before joining AEDC, Story was a budget analyst with the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration.
He received a degree in finance from the University of Arkansas and then worked at Tyson Foods’ Corporate Strategy Division while obtaining his Master of Business Administration degree.
The cost for the Rotary luncheon for non-industry guests is $12. Anyone interested in attending may call the Economic Development Alliance for Jefferson County at 870-535-0110 by March 8 to make a reservation.
