The Children’s Clinic of South Arkansas has begun a program to address food insecurity for patients’ families, according to a Jefferson Regional Medical Center news release.

The clinic project will focus on connecting families to resources such as the Women Infants and Children (WIC) Program, SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) or food stamps, and Jefferson County’s local food pantries.

The clinic will also offer emergency food. JRMC will host a food drive through March 19 to contribute to the children’s emergency food supply. Nonperishable food donations may be left at the front desk of the hospital between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
