The Interested Citizens for Voter Registration Inc. of Pine Bluff received a trademark for the name “KingFest,” according to a news release.
The name has been exclusively utilized for 36 by PBICVR to promote interracial relations and community service during KingFest, according to the release.
“The week-long event honors the legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in Pine Bluff/Jefferson County Arkansas. On Feb. 18, 2019, the Arkansas Secretary of State’s office officially registered the mark which was sought to eliminate confusion created between two events as a result of the closeness of Pine Bluff and Little Rock,” according to the release.
