Anniversaries


Highland Baptist Church, 1320 S. Peach St., will present the 16th anniversary of the pastor and wife, Christopher and Shameka Mack. At 11 a.m. Saturday, March 16, the first lady will be honored. Pamela Phillips-Woodall, co-pastor of New Nation Church at Bryant, will offer words of encouragement and the Webb Sisters will sing. At 11 a.m. Sunday, March 17, the guest speaker will be Seane Kelley, pastor of Greater Faith Church of Monroe, La. At 3 p.m., the featured speaker will be Darrel Petties, pastor of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church at Olive Branch, Miss.


Tracy Shavers Ministries’ sixth anniversary will be held at Evangelistic Outreach Center, 620 L.A. Prexy Davis Drive. At 7 p.m. Friday, March 15, the featured guest will be Kelontae Gavin. At 10 a.m., Saturday, March 16, morning glory begins. At 7 p.m., the guest speaker will be Rita Twiggs, a nationally known evangelist and author. Neff Lankford of the Body of Christ Worship Center will sing.


The Church of the Living God, 3120 Gravel Pit Road, at White Hall, will celebrate the 12th appreciation service of its associate pastor and wife, Elder Kenneth and Kymberly Edwards, at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 17. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Dexter McDonnell, pastor of God’s Way Fellowship Baptist Church.


Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church in the Noble Lake community will host the 24th anniversary of the pastor and wife, the Rev. and Mrs. George Toney III at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 17. The guest minister will be the Rev. George Glass Jr., pastor of Greater Word of Life Ministries at Bastrop, La.


Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church at Star City will observe the anniversary of the pastor and wife, Jesse Jackson Jr. and Vickie Jackson, at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 17. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Woodrow Jackson Sr., pastor of New United Missionary Baptist Church at Pine Bluff.


St. Stephen Church of God in Christ, 4805 W. 14th Ave., will celebrate the 19th anniversary of the pastor and wife, Elder Eugene Girley Jr. and Anthe Girley, beginning at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 16, with first lady’s night. The guest speaker will be Diann Williams, first lady of Prayer Garden Church of God in Christ. At 3 p.m. Sunday, March 17, the guest speaker will be Elder Curtis L. Phillips, pastor of Redeem Temple Church of God in Christ at Grady.


Newbirth Baptist Church, 401 E. Fifth Ave., will celebrate its 14th anniversary at 10 a.m. Sunday, March 17. Special guests will be the Rev. Brandon Dyer, pastor of Lampkin Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, and his congregation.


St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 1404 S. Georgia St., will host a celebration for the Rev. Clifton L. O’Neal, an associate minister and 80+year member. The service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 17.


Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church at Altheimer will hold an appreciation service for the Rev. Fredrick Roberts and Lorine Kelley at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 17. The preacher will be the Rev. John Shelton Sr. and Joyce Shelton will sing.


Concerts


Almeta Missionary Baptist Church at Reedville will present its annual choir day at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 17. The guest minister will be the Rev. Mark Stevens, pastor of Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church at McGehee. Dinner will be served.


First Missionary Baptist Church, 4500 Faucett Road, will host its choir anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 17. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Derick Easter, pastor of New St. Hurricane Missionary Baptist Church, accompanied by the choir.


Family Time Baptist Church & Ministries, 501 Ohio St., will host the 59th anniversary of the Williams Singers of Pine Bluff at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 16, with local and out-of-state guest singers. At 6 p.m. Sunday, March 17, service will be held at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, 401 E. Fifth Ave. Special guests will include the Spiritual Soldiers of Coldwater, Miss., Felicia and the Supreme Angels of Forrest City, and Pastor Austin Hill and Renewed of Helena. Admission is free.


Revivals


Morris Chapel Missionary Baptist Church at Sherrill will conduct spring revival at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, March 18-20. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Daryl Graydon, pastor of Greater First Missionary Baptist Church at Pine Bluff.


Special events


Derrisssaux Missionary Baptist Church, 4010 Old Warren Road, Suite 2, will host its annual Sunday School program at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 17. The guest speaker will be Elder Leroy Spears of Union Missionary Baptist Church. Guests will also include Deloris Williams of St. Peter’s Rock and Doris Young and Betty Webb of Grace Temple Missionary Baptist Church.


Bethel New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 2522 N. Pryce St., will host the Central District Women’s Conference at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 16. The guest speaker on Stewardship will be Sandra J. Williams. The guest speaker on Prayer will be Debra Johnson. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and costs $10.


Youth


Breath of Life Church, 1313 Pine St., will host youth services at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, March 17. Christopher Blunt Jr. will be the speaker. Son of Christopher L. Blunt Sr. and LaTonya Lindsey, Christopher is a senior at Pine Bluff High School, a leader in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, a member of Highland Missionary Baptist Church and was recently named to the Mayor’s Youth Council.
