Birmingham, Ala.- The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff’s Martaveous McKnight received All-SWAC Conference honors for the 2018-19 season as announced by the league office.

McKnight was named to the All-SWAC Conference First Team after putting up some conference-leading numbers.

The yearly teams are voted by the league’s head coaches and the sports information directors.

McKnight is now a two-time All-SWAC selection, garnering 2017-18 All-Newcomer honors, SWAC Player of the Year and 2018-19 Preseason All-SWAC Player of the Year prior to 2018-19. The senior leads the Golden Lions, and the conference in points scored with 721, rebounds 175 and field goals at 244.

His scoring ranks 33rd in the NCAA, while his total field goal percentage ranks 20th in the country. In just two seasons, McKnight has risen to the top of the SWAC active leader list as the league’s top four-leading field goal percentage, 3-pt field goals per game and eighth leading assists with 107.

This season McKnight has been unstoppable. He is averaging a whopping 20.6 points per game, shooting .441 from the field. He scored 40 points twice in a non-conference game earlier this year, 41 points against Colorado St. and 40 points against California Baptist.
