A University of Arkansas at Monticello police officer was killed in a head-on collision on the Bartholomew Bridge on Arkansas 530 early Wednesday morning, according to a news release from the Arkansas State Police.
Iciephine Greene, 45, of Pine Bluff, was driving south on Arkansas 530 when a second vehicle crossed the center line, striking her car, an ASP accident report said.
Green was transported to the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, where she died. The driver of the second car wasn’t identified in the report.
UAM officials said that Greens spent 12 years serving multiple law enforcement agencies, including the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville Police Department, The University of Arkansas at Little Rock Police Department and the Pine Bluff Police Department.
"We are deeply saddened by this loss, and I hope you will join me in keeping Officer Green's family in our thoughts and prayers," Karla Hughes, professor and chancellor at the University of Arkansas at Monticello, said in a statement.
Funeral arrangements for Greene are currently pending.
