Anniversaries


New Community Church, 321 N. Birch St., will celebrate its 59th anniversary at 11 a.m. Sunday, March 31. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Reginald Adams of New St. Hurricane Baptist Church.


Greater First Missionary Baptist Church will honor its first lady, Yvette Graydon, with a banquet at 7 p.m. Friday, April 5, at the Trinity Annex building, 2900 W. Sixth Ave. Tickets are $25 and available from any Greater First member. This celebration precedes the church’s 12th pastoral anniversary for the Rev. and Mrs. Daryl A. Graydon Sr.


New Hope Baptist Church at Altheimer will sponsor an appreciation service for associate ministers Milton “Squirt” Jones Jr. and LaMarcus “Mark” Gaddy. Service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 31. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Glenn Barnes Sr., pastor of Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church.


Concerts


Pleasant View Ministries Church, 1117 N. Palm St., will present the Super Shop, a gospel music workshop experience with the Ministry of Odis Richmond. The concert will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 30, featuring area singers and musicians.


Free Gift Missionary Baptist Church at Dumas will host the fifth Sunday Singing of the Big Creek and Reedville Baptist District at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 31. All choirs are asked to participate. Each church is asked to represent with $25. Anna Miller is vice president and Alma Pittman is director.


New St. Hurricane Missionary Baptist Church, 3319 S. Ohio St., will host the first 2019 Pine Bluff Women’s Community Choir’s concert, “Songs of Praise 69.” Service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 31, and guests will include the Revs. Derick Easter, Kenneth Jackson, Larry Battles, Joseph Valliant Jr. and W.L. Russell.


Revivals


True Vine E Missionary Baptist Church, 1001 W. Second Ave., will continue its revival at 7 p.m. Friday, March 29. The evangelist is the Rev. Robert Willis Jr., pastor of Amos Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.


Special events


St. John Missionary Baptist Church at Sherrill will host its family and friends day at 11 a.m. Sunday, March 31. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Joseph Creal, pastor of Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church at Longview, Texas, and moderator of the East Texas Baptist-Longview District Association.


Word of Faith Full Gospel Baptist Church, 1108 S. Poplar St., will host its family and friends day at 10:45 a.m. Sunday, March 31. Henry Land Jr., pastor of Word of Faith, will be the speaker.


St. Luke AME Church, 9908 Princeton Pike, will present its annual mission service at 11 a.m. Sunday, March 31. The featured speaker will be Catherine Cato Henry, program manager at the Arkansas Kidney Disease Commission.


Lampkin Chapel Baptist Church, 1300 W. 26th Ave., will present its family and friends day at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 31.


Hosanna Christian Church and Ministries, 1500 N. Bryant St., will host its spring camp meeting at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 31. The guest speaker is Debbie Jackson, an apostle of the Empowerment Training Ministry.


Happy Home Missionary Baptist Church at Jefferson will host a mission program at 11 a.m. Sunday, March 11. The guest minister will be Keenon Coleman and an exhortation will be by Marcus Horton, pastor of Greater Paradise Covenant Church. Anointed Praz’ will also perform.


Unity Christian Fellowship Church, 2712 S. Bay St., will host the Rev. Samuel Thompson, associate minster of Unity church, as the featured preacher at 10 a.m. Sunday, March 31. Also, at 6 p.m., the church will host its citywide prayer.


St Andrew AME Church, 701 Franklin St., will celebrate missionary day at 10 a.m. Sunday, March 31. The guest speaker will be Patricia Gray, a native of Pine Bluff and the daughter of Lula B. Gray and the late Rev. H.O. Gray. The Sallie Ann Compton Women’s Missionary Society of St. Andrew will sponsor the program.


Allen Temple AME Church, 1204S. Indiana St., will present the fellowship service of the women’s missionary society at 11 a.m. Sunday, March 31. The guest speaker will be Anna B. Graham, former women’s missionary society president of the AME Church’s 12th District. She is also a former AME Church General Conference Delegate and member of the Episcopal Committee.


Grace and Mercy Missionary Baptist Church, 5103 W. Malcomb St., will celebrate family and friends day at 11 a.m. Sunday, March 31. The speaker will be church’s pastor, the Rev. Joshua Pickett.


Summit Baptist Church, 901 Ridgway Road, will host the 40th anniversary of the music ministry for the music pastor, Lewis L. Hinkle, at 10 a.m. Sunday, March 31. Neal Clark will be the guest speaker. The Summit Singers Worship Choir and the Summit Soundz Celebration Band will present special music.


Women’s programs


First Baptist Church on Walnut Street at Rison will conduct its Sister to Sister fellowship at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 31. The church will honor the memories of Hilda Etherly-White and Jessie Ruth Brandon-Young.


Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in the Ladd community will celebrate its annual women’s day at 11 a.m. Sunday, March 31. The guest speaker will be Robbie Williams of Rose Hill Baptist Church. Donna Huskey of Old St. James Baptist Church will be the guest choir director. Guests will also include Princella Age.


Bethlehem Worship Center Church of God In Christ at Dumas will host its 2019 Women’s Conference beginning at 7 p.m. Friday, April 5, with Aleshal McIntyre, a missionary at Bethlehem, as the speaker. At 9 a.m., Saturday, April 6, the prayer breakfast, mental health and health awareness workshops will be held and the speaker will be Tammy Collins, a missionary at Bethlehem. Sunday, April 7, at 10:30 a.m., the featured speaker will be Linda Jones of Bethlehem. At 3 p.m., the guest speaker will be Deloris Williams of Tate Temple Church of God In Christ in Arkadelphia.
