Using high tunnels to extend the growing season is the theme of High Tunnel Training at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff scheduled for Wednesday, April 10.
The training will be held in the S.J. Parker 1890 Extension Complex at 2300 L.A. “Prexy” Davis Drive. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. in the auditorium and the first session begins at 9 a.m. The training ends after lunch.
The event is aimed at fruit and vegetable growers, gardeners and interested parties. Topics will include types of high tunnels; crops to grow in high tunnels; irrigation, plastic mulch and compost; soil testing; EQIP funding for high tunnels; and the cost of high tunnels.
