The Civic Auditorium Complex Commission was scheduled to meet Tuesday but did not have a quorum.
However, commissioners who were there talked about a new Pine Bluff Convention Center logo that was created by Cates and Company Creative in Pine Bluff. The logo represents the newly-renovated arena and signals the new direction of the 43-year-old venue, the company said.
Cates and Company Creative donated all billable hours for the design to the convention center.
In other business, the Pine Bluff Convention Center is now a professional member of the National Association of Sports Commissions, which is the only non-profit trade association for the sports and tourism industry in the United States.
Convention center personnel will attend the NASC symposium from May 6-9 in Knoxville, Tennessee, to meet with various event holders who schedule sporting events in hopes of attracting them to the convention center, as well as to other venues in the city, such as the softball and baseball fields.
The convention center also repaired the automated door for physically challenged visitors at the front entrance of the building. The repairs put the building in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
