The Pine Bluff Christian Women’s Connection will hold its monthly luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 18, at the Pine Bluff Country Club.
The featured speaker will be the Rev. Steve Wingo, senior pastor of Lakeside United Methodist Church at Pine Bluff.
The luncheon speaker will be Barbara McKinney of Watauga, Texas.
Wingo was pastor at Hawley United Methodist Church at Pine Bluff from 1989-1992.
The pastor at Lakeside since July 1, 2016, he came from Goddard United Methodist Church at Fort Smith and previously served as senior pastor at Pocahontas, Clarksville and Marion, according to a news release.
Wingo is a graduate of Lyon College and Memphis Theological Seminary. He was ordained as a deacon in 1980 and as an elder in 1984. Wingo and his wife, Gina, have two adult daughters and two grandchildren.
McKinney, the luncheon speaker, will discuss “Treasures Are Not Always From A Chest.”
McKinney is a graduate of Baylor University at Texas. She is also a world traveler and motivational and seminar speaker, according to the news release.
“She grew up in a Christian home as an only child. At the age of 12 she became aware of a need for a savior. Her talk includes her life in the fast lane and the treasures found along the way,” according to the release.
Decorations at the luncheon will be by Sharon Blankenship. The menu will be meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans and carrot cake. The cost of the luncheon is $13.50 and reservations are required by calling Jennifer Keahey at 870-540-9302.
