Applications for the City of Pine Bluff Summer Youth Employment Program are available at the Human Resources Department, Room 104, at the civic center, 200 E. Eighth Ave. The program will be held for six weeks.
Applications are also available at www.cityofpinebluff.com and will be accepted until Tuesday, April 30, according to the news release from Mayor Shirley Washington’s office.
Applicants must be 16-21 years of age, a resident of Jefferson County, and a full-time high school or college student. Interviews will be held at the Pine Bluff Convention Center from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays, April 13, and May 4.
The program will operate from June 10 to July 19. Youth employees will work 20 hours per week and earn $9.25 per hour.
“The purpose of the Summer Youth Employment Program is to provide opportunities for high school and college students in our community to gain meaningful work experience, learn and develop the skills, attitudes and commitment necessary to succeed; gain exposure to various exciting career industries; and interact with dynamic working professionals in a positive work environment,” according to the release.
“Although the Summer Youth Employment Program is a short-term employment and training program, our goal is to introduce youth to employers who will positively impact their futures,” according to the release.
