Startup Small Talk, a free seminar geared toward people interested in starting a business, will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, at the Donald W. Reynolds Community Services Center, 211 W. Third Ave.

The event is sponsored by the University of Arkansas at Monticello ASBTDC (Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center), according to a news release.

People who have first-hand experience will offer participants advice on the requirements, challenges and successes of starting a business.

Panelists will be Jan Robinson, owner of Uptown Salon & Boutique; Valandra Oliver, owner of Bella Cleaning Services; and Herb Lawrence, lender relations specialist for U. S. Small Business Administration.

“If you’re a prospective business owner, you don’t want to miss hearing from our panelists,” a spokesman said.
