Turning Point Youth Center Inc., 508 S. Mulberry St., will begin the Turning Point Young Parent Program for Pregnant Parenting Teens.

The program for teen mothers and fathers will begin Tuesday, May 7. Classes will be held Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in one-hour sessions from 1-4 p.m., according to a news release.

Participants will receive a certificate and baby shower after completing the program.

“We are accepting donations for the parenting program,” said Pamela Barnes Earnest, community program connector.

The program aims to connect parents with community resources, increase young parents’ parenting skills and assist young people with goals to improve their circumstances.

The project also will promote education on child safety, nutrition, discipline and developmental stages of life, according to the release.
