The Jefferson Regional Medical Center Auxiliary held its volunteer appreciation luncheon April 15.
Brian Thomas, president and chief executive officer of JRMC, welcomed everyone, gave an update on the hospital and answered several questions from those in attendance.
Charlotte Jackson, volunteer coordinator, led the group in the auxiliary prayer. A lunch was served featuring strawberry fields salad and cheesecake with strawberry topping for dessert.
After lunch, Jackson gave a brief history of the auxiliary, noting that 2019 is the 80th anniversary of the auxiliary. She also gave a summary of the activities the auxiliary accomplished in 2018.
For entertainment, the group played bingo. Certificates were presented to each volunteer recognizing them for the hours they volunteered at JRMC for 2018. The total volunteer hours for 2018 was 10,545. The total number of days worked was 2,199.
