The Southeast Arkansas Stormwater Education Program will present a grant writing lunch and learn workshop from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, May 9, at the Jefferson County Cooperative Extension Service, 500 S. Idaho St.

The workshop was organized in response to a request from community volunteers and organizations interested in acquiring more resources to support quality of life improvement projects and initiatives in Jefferson County.

The workshop will feature a grant project officer from the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism and a grant writer from the University of Arkansas System – Division of Agriculture, according to a news release.

The program will be a panel style discussion that allows time for participants to ask questions about various grant development and management approaches.

The program will offer people a chance to learn more about how to locate, develop, submit and manage grants. A free lunch will also be provided to participants who register for the program.

The program is being made possible by a grant awarded by the Arkansas Community Foundation to support quality of life improvements and to develop community project leaders, according to the release.

To register for the workshop or for details, contact John Pennington, Jefferson County urban stormwater agent at 870-534-1033 or jhpennington@uaex.edu .
