The New Horizons Extension Homemakers Club held its April meeting at Indigo Blue Coffeehouse, 212 W. Barraque St.


Sabrina Self Gwin, presented the program,”Prevent Type 2 is for You,” along with assistance by Carolyn Cadlett and Teresa Hamilton.


All three of these club members are nurses and shared valuable information, according to the release.


“This was the club’s night out and we wish to thank owner Mary Ann Lee for the delicious meal that was prepared for our club,” a spokesman said.


Other members attending were Diana Maxwell, Mary Miller, Gail Sales, Debbie Staton, Sharon Johnson, Sarah Gwin, Sophia Gwin, Kimberly Edwards, Dot Hart and EHC Advisor Mary Ann Kizer. Also, the club held a teaching doll workshop to get a jump start on making the dolls.


New Horizons’ next meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday, May 13, at St. Andrew Missionary Baptist Church, 5810 W. Malcomb St. Anyone is welcome to attend and join the club.
