A gang and violence prevention/intervention program will be presented at Robert F. Morehead Middle School at 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 10.
The Pine Bluff National Ten Point PEN OR PENCIL Expansion Hub will present the project, “Let Me Read You Your Rights.”
“The activity is intended to make students aware of what can happen if they are involved/join a gang, re-enforcing Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS),” according to a news release. “Let Me Read You Your Rights” also addresses bullying, discipline, character development and encourages reading and discourages negative behaviors.”
The main speaker is Kevin Hunt, a former gang member and author of several books. Other participants include the Pine Bluff Police Detective Jeremy Crosby and Eric Walden, Jr., assistant chief juvenile officer for the Sixth Division Circuit Court.
