Benjimen Neal, a 2019 honors graduate of Watson Chapel High School, will perform with the Blue Lake International Youth Orchestra this summer touring Europe. Neal was selected through audition, according to a news release.
Neal will also perform a recital at Summit Baptist Church at Pine Bluff at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 11. His band directors Al Wimberly and Garry Henson will also perform.
Neal will graduate with honors from Watson Chapel High School this month and plans to begin school at the University of Arkansas at Conway in the fall majoring in instrumental music, according to the release.
While growing up in Pine Bluff, he has been an All-Region and All-State clarinet player, played in the Four States Honors Band as well as the University of Arkansas at Conway Honors Band.
He currently plays for the Arkansas Youth Orchestra, Pine Bluff Community Band and the Watson Chapel High School Band.
The recital at Summit Church is free and open to the public, however donations are appreciated to assist in tuition and travel expenses associated with the European tour, according to the release.
