Anniversaries


Family Time Baptist Church & Ministries, 501 Ohio St., will observe the 22nd pastoral anniversary of the pastor and wife, the Rev. Micheal E. Williams Sr. and Pamela Williams, Sunday May 19. At 9 a.m., the guest speaker will be the Rev. Robert Willis, pastor of Amos Chapel Baptist Church. At 3 p.m., the featured speaker will be Christopher Mack, the pastor and apostle of Highland Baptist Church.


Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 6300 U.S. 79 South, will celebrate its 115th anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 19. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Earl Graham, pastor of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church at North Little Rock.


Mt. Harmony Missionary Baptist Church, 812 E. Harding Ave., will celebrate the 42nd anniversary of the pastor and wife, the Rev. Robert L. Handley and Carrie L. Handley, Sunday, May 19. At 10 a.m., the guest speaker will be the Rev. Anthony Howard, associate minister of Kings Highway Missionary Baptist Church. At 3 p.m., the featured speaker will be the Rev. Clark Thomas, pastor of New Salem Missionary Baptist Church of Sherrill.


The City of Love Outreach & Restoration Church, meeting at the Plaza Hotel, 2 Convention Center Drive, will present its first anniversary Sunday, May 19. The guest speaker at 11 a.m. will be Victoria Smith, a minister of The COLOR Church. At 3 p.m., the guest speaker will be Craig Banks, the apostle of Canaan Christian Center.


First Baptist Church at Gould will host the 21st anniversary of the pastor and wife, the Rev. Isaac Barnes Sr. and Rosemary Barnes at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 19. The guest minister will be the Rev. Robert Key, pastor of Mulberry Grove Baptist Church at Altheimer, along with his congregation.


Concerts


Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 900 S. Grant St., will host the first anniversary of the Sonz of Glory beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 18. Guests include Men of Faith, Hayes Family and Chosen Ones of Fordyce. At 6 p.m. Sunday, May 19, guests will include Mighty Gospelettes, Spiritualettes and special guests, Spiritual Wings of Joy.


New Hope Missionary Baptist Church at Altheimer will host the Southeast Arkansas Community Mass Choir’s musical benefit for Charlie Gipson Sr. and Linda Carroll-Helms. Service will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 18.


Gospel Temple Missionary Baptist Church, 1100 Oakwood Road, will hold a musician’s appreciation celebration at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 19. Honorees will be Andranette “Anne” Anderson, Lester “Frunnie” Beard Jr. and Jamison Trey Murry. Singers will include Gospel Temple’s mass choir, Keenon Coleman and Friends and the Southeast Arkansas Community Mass Choir.


Men’s/women’s services


St.Luke AME Church, 9908 Princeton Pike, will celebrate its annual men’s day at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 19. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Charles Boyd, pastor of First Missionary Baptist Church.


Union Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, 1121 Persimmon St., will present its annual men’s and women’s day Sunday, May 19. At 11 a.m., the guest speaker will be Union Hopewell’s first lady, Loretta Gayden. At 3 p.m., the guest speaker will be the Rev. Dale Hubbard of New Jerusalem Baptist Church at Little Rock.


Mt. Pleasant AME Church, 1201 N. Magnolia St., will present its annual women’s day at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 19. The guest speaker will be Melissa Henry-Mack, an evangelist from Main Street Church of God in Christ. The Henry Sisters will also sing.


Family Time Baptist Church & Ministries, 501 Ohio St., will host the First Lady Pamela Warrior Williams’ Tea Party at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 18. Women 18 years old and older are invited to join the event featuring activities and refreshments. Participants may also wear hats and gloves and bring their favorite cup and saucer.


St. John AME Church, 1117 W. Pullen St., will present its 100th annual women’s day celebration at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 19. Music will be provided by the Women United for Christ Choir. The speaker will be Janice M. Smith Streeter, a member of St. John. She holds a lifetime Arkansas certified license in several educational areas.


New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 1026 Missouri St., will host the annual women’s day of the Greater St. Marion District Baptist Association. The event will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 19, and the guest speaker will be Eleen N. Mackey of Rock of Ages Missionary Baptist Church at Maumelle.


New Faith Missionary Baptist Church, 3800 Fir St., will hold its annual women’s conference from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 18. The guest speaker will be Gwendolyn Rogers, first lady of Ezekiel Baptist Church. Teachers include Tracey Chatman of New Faith, Susan Gray of Remnant Outreach Ministry, and Ellen Harbin of Oasis of Love Ministry of Greenville, Miss. Women’s day will be observed at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 19. Betty Thomas of United Baptist Church will be the guest speaker and a women’s day mass choir will sing.


Newbirth Baptist Church, 401 E. Fifth Ave., will celebrate its annual women’s day at 10 a.m. Sunday, May 19. Angela Roby will be the guest speaker and various women from the community will sing.


Revival


Greater Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 3700 W. 13th Ave., will hold its annual spring revival at 7 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, May 21-23. The guest evangelist will be the Rev. Anthony Craig Sr., pastor of Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church. These lecturers will speak on the following dates: Tuesday, the Rev. Andrew Bess of Mt. Carmel; Wednesday, the Rev. Victor Patterson of Cherry St. AME Zion Church; and Thursday, the Rev. Thomas Peters of Free Mission Missionary Baptist Church of Jackson, Miss.


Special events


First Missionary Baptist Church, 4500 Faucett Road, will conduct its annual mission program at 11 a.m. Sunday, May 19. The pastor, the Rev. Charles Boyd, will be the speaker.


New Morning Star Baptist Church at Altheimer will present its family and friends day at 11 a.m. Sunday, May 19. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Dexter McDonnell, pastor of God’s Way Fellowship, along with his congregation.


Greater Deliverance Global Ministry, 2215 E. Harding Ave., will conduct its quarterly Koinonia Fellowship gathering at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, May 19. The guest speaker will be the Rev. David Wilson of Union Missionary Baptist Church at Clarendon.


Greater Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 3700 W. 13th Ave., will hold its annual mission program at 11 a.m. Sunday, May 19. The guest minister will be the Rev. Sammie Smith, pastor of Nu Bread of Life Missionary Baptist Church.

East End Church of God in Christ, 709 S. Virginia St., will present its annual Sunday School day at 11 a.m. Sunday, May 19. The guest speaker will be M.L. Clay, pastor of Anointed Praise and Worship Ministries Inc. of Conway.


Unity Temple Church of God in Christ, 4401 W. Sixth Ave., will celebrate its annual Sunday School Day at 11 a.m. Sunday, May 19. The speaker will be the Sunday School Superintendent, Wanda Jeter, a missionary.


Barnes Temple Church of God in Christ, 10301 Princeton Pike Road, will host its annual building fund at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 19. The guest speaker will be Elder Richard Harper, pastor of St. Phillips Church of God in Christ at Hot Springs.
