Anniversaries


True Vine E Missionary Baptist Church, 1001 W. Second Ave., will celebrate the 13th anniversary of the pastor and wife, the Rev. Leon and Laetta Williams, at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 9. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Antonio Gayden, pastor of Union Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church.


St. Peter AME Church at McGehee will celebrate its 113th anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 9. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Jeremy Jones of Quinn Chapel AME Church at Crossett.


Greater Deliverance Global Ministry, 2215 E. Harding Ave., will honor its pastor, bishop and apostle, Shirley Sanders, for 24 years of ministry on Sunday, June 9. At 10:30 a.m., the guest speaker will be her son, John Eaves, youth and outreach pastor of United Faith Christian Ministry Church at Stafford, Va. The guest speaker at 4 p.m. will be Mary D. Arnold of the Epistle of God Church at Hamburg.


Faith Family & Friends Church at North Little Rock will observe its second anniversary at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, June 9. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Dexter McDonnell Sr., pastor of God’s Way Fellowship Church at Pine Bluff.


Eudora Missionary Baptist Church at Altheimer will celebrate the 17th anniversary of the pastor and wife, the Rev. Roy and Barbara Thomas, at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 9. The guest speaker will be the Rev. James Barnes Jr., pastor of New St. James Missionary Baptist Church.


Concerts


New Hope Baptist Church at Altheimer will host the musical benefit program for Ruthie Thompson-Phillips and Cedric Pitts at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 8. The Southeast Arkansas Community Mass Choir will sponsor the service.


Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 2101 W. Reeker St., will host rehearsals for the Pine Bluff Women’s Community Choir’s Songs of Praise 70 Concert. New Community Church, 321 N. Birch St., will host the 46th anniversary of Ruby Evans & Faith of Harmony at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 8. Revivals


Nu Bread of Life Missionary Baptist Church, 1711 W. 13th Ave., will present a citywide revival at 6:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, June 10-12. The guest evangelist will be the Rev. Jimmie Joseph, pastor of Star Light Missionary Baptist Church of Louisiana.


Union Missionary Baptist Church, 609 E. 24th Ave., will conduct revival at 7 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, June 12-14. The guest speaker will be Seane T. Kelley, pastor of Greater Faith Church at Monroe, La.


Special events


Kingdom Builders Outreach Church of God in Christ, 3105 S. Apple St., will host the 12th appreciation service honoring Michelle Johnson, a psalmist and recipient of the 2018 Arkansas Gospel Heritage Solo Award of the Year. The service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 9.


Evangelistic Outreach Church, 620 L.A. Prexy Davis Drive will continue the Love and Unity Fest 2019 at 7 p.m. Friday, June 7. The guest speaker is Tiny Lucas of Forward Focus LLC of Wilmington, Del. The event is sponsored by the Apostolic Prophetic Fellowship of Churches and Ministries Inc.


Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 900 Grant St., will host a send off celebration for Scheron Womack at 7 p.m. Friday, June 7. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Raeshawn Howard, pastor of New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church.

New Home Missionary Baptist Church, 3000 S. Orange St., will host a VBS Kick Off party from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 8, at the church’s gym. New Home will host Vacation Bible School from 6-8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, June 10-13.


St. Peter’s Rock Missionary Baptist Church, 1201 S. Catalpa St., will sponsor Vacation Bible School from 6-8:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, June 10-14.

Travelers Rest Missionary Baptist Church at Grady will sponsor its annual youth day celebration at 11 a.m. Sunday, June 9. The speaker will be Audrea Johnson, an evangelist and youth minister at Travelers Rest.


Union Missionary Baptist Church, 609 E. 24th Ave., will host its youth appreciation day at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 9. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Brandon Dyer, pastor of Lampkin Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.


Greater Battle Chapel Baptist Church at Altheimer will host its youth day program at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 9. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Eric Walden Jr. of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church at Altheimer.


Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church, 3201 W. Second Ave., will host its annual young people’s day at 11 a.m. Sunday, June 9. The sermon will be delivered by the Rev. Michael McIntosh, associate minister of Gospel Temple Baptist Church. The church’s young adult choir and guest from throughout Pine Bluff will sing.
