The Army Corps of Engineers reminds boaters that a small craft advisory for the Arkansas River is still in place. Even though flows have decreased, the advisory will be in effect for several more weeks, according to a news release.
During high flows, dikes, normally visible are submerged. Strong currents and large debris can also threaten the safety of pleasure craft, according to the release.
Small craft advisories are issued when flows exceed 70,000 cubic feet per second. More rain could push flows higher or cause the advisory to remain in effect longer.
