Southeast Arkansas College will host a safety conference to promote hazard recognition in the workplace, according to a news release.


The conference will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, in SEARK’s McGeorge Hall Seminar Room.


Safety First will be the topic of the session, which aims to promote the recognition of hazards at work thereby reducing employee injuries and illnesses.


The conference is sponsored by the Southeast Arkansas Human Resources and Safety Committee, a SEARK panel that includes company and industry representatives, according to the release.


The program material is geared toward representatives of safety committees, employees learning about safety, public agencies, or anyone interested in maintaining a safe and healthful workplace, according to the release.


The conference is being held in conjunction with the Arkansas Department of Labor and Licensing and U.S. Department of Labor.


The registration fee is $25 and covers lunch and materials. Participants are urged to pre-register as seating is limited.
