Flood survivors who are rebuilding or repairing their homes after the flooding and severe storms can receive a free hazard mitigation consultation from FEMA representatives.

Locally, this help is available by visiting a Lowe’s, 2906A E. Harding Ave., at Pine Bluff. FEMA staff will be at Lowe’s from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. today through Monday, July 15.

Mitigation advisers will be on hand at Lowe’s in Jefferson County and Home Depot in Sebastian County to answer questions about rebuilding and protecting homes from future disaster-related damage.

Topics will include flood insurance and elevating utilities. Most of the information is geared toward do-it-yourself work and general contractors, according to a news release.
