A Small Business Administration (SBA) Lecture Series will be conducted at Pine Bluff by the U.S. SBA (Arkansas office) and The Generator, part of Go Forward Pine Bluff.

Sessions will be held at the welcome center at Southeast Arkansas College and the presenter will be David Moody, deputy director of SBA in Arkansas, according to a news release.

Lectures include:

Monday, July 22, noon to 1 p.m. — Startup, Expansion, Recovery, and Exit: SBA’s Role as Player, Coach and General Manager – A discussion of the roles of the SBA, its resource partners and other service providers in helping small firms at every stage of their business.

Monday, July 29, noon to 1 p.m. — Time, Treasure, and Talent: Lessons Learned from SBA’s Emerging Leaders Program – Emerging Leaders is SBA’s premier business education program. A discussion of some of the key lessons learned and insights about the 50 businesses that have graduated from the program in Arkansas.

Monday, Aug. 5, noon to 1 p.m. — Small Business is BIG Business in Economic Development – Much of the focus of economic development is on recruiting large, existing businesses. This discussion will explore the alternative strategy of focusing on small businesses in economic development.
