The Southeast Arkansas Stormwater Education Program, Master Gardeners and the Jefferson County Cooperative Extension Service will host a Rain Garden Workshop.

The event will be held Thursday, July 25, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the Liberty Utilities Rain Garden. This event is free and open to the public. Participants of all are ages welcome, according to a news release

“Join us at the Liberty Utility Rain Garden for a Rain Garden Maintenance and Touring workshop,” according to the release. “Learn about plant identity, selection, and maintenance for rain gardens as well as rain garden construction and its bioretention functions.”

Schedule of events:

8:30-9:30 a.m. — Participants will work with Master Gardeners on garden maintenance at Liberty Utilitities.

10-11 a.m. — Participants will take a tour to two other rain gardens and a bioswale (landscape elements) at the Pine Bluff Community Garden and the Boys & Girls Club of Jefferson County. (Participants must provide their own transportation.)
