The community is invited to Downtown Camden’s First Friday Market celebrating “Staycation Adventures” from 6-9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2.
“This month’s market is filled with an abundance of adventures for your enjoyment,” a spokesman said in a news release. “Be sure to check out the ‘Downtown Camping’ area. Bring a canned food item to leave in front of the campsite you feel is decorated the best. All canned food items will be donated to a local food pantry. Get a group and test your skills with the Natural State Escape Room. The cost is $5 per person, groups of 5 to 6 will be able to try to beat the time on this special Escape Room.”
Visitors will also see Woody and Jesse from Toy Story and a vast array of vendors set up along Washington Street and Adams Avenue.
“Adventures don’t stop when it comes to food either! Your taste buds can travel home or abroad with an authentic Indian vendor, Oriental egg rolls and dumplings, or Italian Ice. If your preference is more U.S. style, we have that covered too, with a New York style hot dog cart, fried fish and smoked meats,” according to the release.
A Frame of Mind will feature a featured author, Stephanie Bennett Thompson, who will be on hand with her book, “Love Yourself First.”
Participants will also find the special Evening Farmer’s Market on the Farmer’s Bank Parking Lot for fresh produce, local honey, jellies, jams, free range eggs, grass fed meats and more.
“Catch the sounds of this month’s special live music at the corner of Washington and Adams….street dancing is permitted,” according to the release.
Downtown merchants will also be open late. The “After Party” will be located over in the campsite area.
