Grace and Mercy Missionary Baptist Church, 5103 W. Malcomb St., will celebrate its 10th anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Rickey Parks, pastor of Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church at Champaign, Ill.

New Hope Missionary Baptist Church at Moscow will commemorate its 132nd anniversary at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4. The guest speaker will be the Rev. C.L. Williams, pastor of Smith Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, accompanied by his congregation.

Hosanna Christian Church & Ministries Inc., 1500 N. Bryant St., will present its 16th anniversary at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4. The guest speaker will be Jerry Bradden, bishop and pastor of Bread of Heaven Deliverance Church at Morrilton.

Bright Star Missionary Baptist Church on U.S. 425 South will observe its anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Chris Briggs, pastor of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church.


Family Time Baptist Church & Ministries, 501 Ohio St., will host the Annual Ole’ Timers’ Renewal Service at 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4. The event will feature former quartet groups such as The Five Sisters, Christland, Gospel Commandments and Spiritual Harmonettes and current groups, including Men In Christ, Union Choir and Spiritualettes.

Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 900 S. Grant St., will be the location of the pre-anniversary honoring the Ratio Spirituals of Helena. Service will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, and guests will include the Hayes Family, Sonz of Glory, Spiritualettes, Wonder State of Little Rock and Nu Image.

Summit Baptist Church, 901 Ridgway Road, will host the Summit Soundz Celebration Band in a Family & Friends Concert at 6 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 4. The concert will include the Leroy Anderson arrangement of “Bugler’s Holiday” played by Garry Henson, Kameron Willis, and Garrison Wimberly.


New Fellowship Baptist Church, 3706 S. Cherry St., will host its annual revival services at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, Aug 5-7. The guest speaker will be Robert White, pastor of Freedom Church at Bedford, Texas. The guest soloist will be Janice Wilks of St. Hurricane Baptist Church. New Fellowship will also continue its Vacation Bible School for ages 5-16 from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, Aug. 2.

Auburn Missionary Baptist Church at Gould will present its annual revival at 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, Aug. 5-9. The guest preacher will be the Rev. Isom Cross, pastor at Union Baptist Church at Dumas.

Mt. Harmony Missionary Baptist Church, 812 East Harding Ave., will present its Denim & Bling Brunch at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, at the Dr. Robert L. Handley Family Life Center at the church. The motivational speaker will be Yaminah Holt.

Derrisaux Missionary Baptist Church, 418 W. 34th Ave., invites the community to its new location at 34th Avenue and Olive Street. Services will be held at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sunday, according to its pastor, Freddie L. Webb.

Unity Christian Fellowship Church, 2712 S. Bay St., will celebrate its youth day program at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4. The guest speaker will be Shaquiel Ingram of St. John AME Church.

Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 900 S. Grant St., will sponsor its ushers’ annual program at at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Darrell Martin, pastor of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church at Altheimer.

Grace Temple Missionary Baptist Church, 909 S. Wisconsin St., will host the Regular St. Marion District Monday through Friday, Aug. 5-9. This will be the 153rd annual session of the parent body, the 127th annual session of the women’s auxiliary and the 72nd annual session of the young people’s department.

Church of Christ, 3907 W. Hepburn St., will begin its Gospel Meeting Sunday, Aug. 4, at 10:45 a.m. and 6 p.m. with the speaker, James Hamilton. Speakers on the following dates at 7 p.m. will be: Monday, Hamilton; Tuesday and Wednesday, Lee Elkins; and Thursday and Friday, Zach Redman.

House of Bread Deliverance Church of Pine Bluff will conduct the eighth annual prayer rally from 6-7 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, at the Pine Bluff Civic Center, according to a news release. The prayer rally will be led by House of Bread’s apostle, Saint Mary Harris, along with local and national prayer leaders. The goal is for Pine Bluff ministries and concerned residents to come out in church vans/buses, cars and gather in 6 a.m. prayer, unite in values that are biblically-based that bring favor and results as God desires.


Nu Bread of Life Missionary Baptist Church, 1711 W. 13th Ave., will host a youth and young adult program at 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 4. The speaker will be the pastor, the Rev. Sammie Smith Jr.

The Church of God in Pine Bluff, 7111 Shannon Road, will host a back-to-school barbecue starting at noon Saturday, Aug. 3. The church will hand out school supplies until they are gone. Hot dogs and chips will be served. The community is invited to attend.
