Employment Law, a human resources workshop, will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, at the welcome center at Southeast Arkansas College.
The U.S. Small Business Administration (Arkansas office) and The Generator, part of Go Forward Pine Bluff, will present this third session in the series, according to the Generator’s website.
Participants will receive a broad overview of employment laws and guidelines that business owners must adhere to in order to avoid being subject to fines, closure of business and more severe penalties (personal and business), according to the website.
“Take-Away: Proper Personnel file and I-9 completion and storage, required postings, common pitfalls to avoid, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission guidelines on harassment-free workplaces and Americans with Disabilities accommodation procedures,” according to the website.
