The eighth annual Legendary Blues Festival will be held in downtown Helena Labor Day weekend and performers will include Pine Bluff area artists.


The show will be held Saturday, Aug. 31, beginning at 3 p.m. at the Cherry Street Pavilion. The gates will open at 2 p.m., according to a news release.


Performers will include Karen Wolfe from Pine Bluff, the Cummins Prison Band, O.B. Buchana, L.J. Echols, Andre Lee, The PC Band, Lady Trucker and Comedian Playa Mook.


That morning, organizers will also offer a free community health fair in conjunction with the Lee County Co-Operative Clinic, according to a news release.


“Come meet us along the banks of the Mississippi River and wrap up your summer the lucky way, the Delta Blues way with live blues performers and music, comedians, motorcycle roundup, competitions, food and fun,” a spokesman said in the release.


Guests are expected to travel from the tri-state area and beyond. The annual event is sponsored by KCLT, KAKJ and WNEV radio stations.
