Mandy Owens has passed her examination for Professional Community & Economic Developer (PCED) certification through the Community Development Council.

Owens is the event coordinator for the Economic Development Alliance for Jefferson County and the Pine Bluff Regional Chamber of Commerce. She received the notification Aug. 15 that she passed the test.

“Sitting for the Aug. 2 exam followed the third annual, week-long course sessions through the Community Development Institute at the University of Central Arkansas at Conway,” according to the Chamber newsletter.

“CDI trains community leaders and economic development professionals on how to strengthen their local economies and build communities. This is achieved by developing the ability of participants to identify community assets, set goals, encourage collaboration and partnerships with stakeholders, and bring communities, organizations and businesses together to respond to a broad range of economic and quality of life issues,”according to the newsletter.
