The 16th annual Tour de Bluff will be held Friday and Saturday, Sept. 13-14, at Pine Bluff.

The annual bicycle themed event is produced and sponsored by Novel T’s, ARORA and the City of Pine Bluff and made possible through partnerships and sponsorship funding.

Tour de Bluff begins Sept. 13 at the Pine Bluff Convention Center. Riders may pick up their packets starting at noon.

Tour De Bluff continues at 7 a.m. Sept. 14 with registration in downtown Pine Bluff, according to a news release.

Road racers who would like to complete for the Tour de Bluff road race title start the course. Leisure riders wanting to ride the course any distance “just for fun” and distance riders will begin after all racers have started.

While the racers are gone, others may watch and/or participate in the games, entertainment and activities, which include a bicycle safety demonstration, a fire engine display by the Pine Bluff Fire and Emergency Services Department and a “BEST LOOKING BIKE” contest.

4-H and Jefferson County Growing Healthy Communities have partnered for Bicycle Safety stations to teach safe riding skills. Tour De Bluff is also set up as a Boy Scout Challenge. Boy Scouts can work on their Cycling Merit Badge and earn a patch.

“The goal for Tour De Bluff is to show people how to stay in shape while having fun and helping people rediscover the joy of bicycle riding as a great way to accomplish this goal,” a spokesman said in a press release.

Tour De Bluff 2019 will also feature the new Tour De Bluff Friday Social. The event debuts for participants, family members, visitors and the community to socialize while lisetening to Blues music.
