The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Homecoming Parade will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, on Main street in downtown Pine Bluff.
The deadline to return completed parade applications is Monday, Sept. 30. The theme will be “Proud Lions Keep On Roaring,” according to a news release.
A non-refundable application fee will be required for non-university sponsored organizations according to the following structure: cars and motorcycles – $50.00/each; trucks and SUVs – $75.00/each, and semi-trailer trucks (18 wheelers) – $100.00/each. Decorated floats and current elected officials are excluded, according to the release.
Cashier’s checks or money orders may be made payable to The UAPB Homecoming Committee. (No personal checks or cash will be accepted). All fees and applications must be paid on or before Sept. 30 between 9 a.m. and noon and 1:30-4 p.m. Fees may be paid at room 148 of Corbin Hall at UAPB.
Participants,other than bands, are asked to create a float that follows the homecoming theme.
For local politicians who wish to participate, only incumbent national, state, county and city elected officials may participate in the parade. Campaign materials may not be displayed on the elected official’s vehicle. Identification of elected officials will be limited to name and office held, according to the release.
Applications may be downloaded at www.uapb.edu/homecoming or picked up and returned to the UAPB Police Office, the Welcome Center, or Corbin Hall, room 148.
