Anniversaries


Pleasant View Ministries Church, 1117 N. Palm St., will celebrate the 32nd anniversary of the pastor and wife, the Rev. William and Tonya Shaw, at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22. The guest speakers will be Carl L. Desmuke Sr., president, and Virginia Desmuke, dean of Spiritual Revelation Kingdom of God Theological Institute.


New Home Missionary Baptist Church, 3000 S. Orange St., will celebrate its 17th anniversary at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22. The guest preacher will be the Rev. Robert Key, pastor of Mulberry Grove Missionary Baptist Church at Altheimer.


Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church at Altheimer will celebrate the 22nd anniversary of the pastor, the Rev. Darrell Jerome Martin, beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, with a musical of praise celebration. On Sunday, Sept. 22, at 11 a.m,. the guest speaker will be the Rev. Al Johnson, associate minister of Little Union Missionary Baptist Church at Shreveport, La. At 3 p.m., the guest speaker will be the Rev. Glenn Barnes Sr., pastor of Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Mt. Zion and Pine Hill mass choirs will sing.


Eudora Missionary Baptist Church, 9405 Middle Warren Road, will celebrate the first anniversary honoring the pastor, the Rev. Joseph Westbrook, at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Don Hawkins, pastor of Barnett Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.


Love Fellowship and Deliverance Church of God in Christ, 411 S. Oleander St., will observe its first anniversary celebration at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Patrick Lockett, apostle and pastor of New Community Church.


Mt. Olive AME Church in the Tarry community will host the appreciation service for the pastor and wife, the Revs. Welton Boyce and Rev. Tonya Boyce, at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22. The guest preacher will be the Rev. Reginald Adams, associate minister of New St. Hurricane Missionary Baptist Church of Pine Bluff, and a Jefferson County justice of the peace.


Concerts/Muscials


New Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, 500 Bois D’Arc St., will host its annual choir day at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22. The guest speaker will be C. Renee Howard of Grace Temple Missionary Baptist Church. Guests will also include New Birth Missionary Baptist Church and New St. Hurricane Missionary Baptist Church.


Greater Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 3700 W. 13th Ave., will hold its choir annual at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22. The guest minister will be the Rev. Charles Boyd Sr., pastor of First Missionary Baptist Church, accompanied by his congregation.


St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church at Sherrill will host the Pastoria Singing Union’s worship service at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22.


Men’s/Women’s events


Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church at Star City will sponsor its women’s conference beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21. Speakers include LaTasha Harper, a prophetess of Rose Hill, and Gracie McCoy, a prophetess of Wade Chapel Missionary Baptist Church at Star City. Guests will also include Bobbie Thornton of Church of the Living God at White Hall, Audrea Johnson of Traveler’s Rest Missionary Baptist Church at Grady, and Teresssa Ajao of Word and Spirit Ministries.


True Vine E Missionary Baptist Church, 1001 W. Second Ave., will conduct its annual men’s day at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Robert Thomas, pastor of Christian Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church.


Revivals


Smith Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 3004 S. Kentucky St., will conduct its fall revival at 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, Sept. 23-26. The evangelist will be the Rev. Stanley Blair, pastor of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church at Moscow.


Special events


Smith Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 3004 S. Kentucky St., will celebrate the annual program of the ushers’ ministry at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22. The guest speaker will be the Rev. George Waters Jr., pastor of Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church, accompanied by his congregation.


Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church, 3201 W. Second Ave., announced that Clancy White, the church’s minister of music, recently received the Director of the Year Award from the Arkansas Black Heritage Gospel Music group. White is a native of Pine Bluff and a life-long member of Mt. Nebo. He is well known and worked with several church choirs in Pine Bluff and surrounding areas, according to the pastor, the Rev. Larry Battles.


Reynolds Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 706 Cypress St., will host guest speakers Sunday, Sept. 22. At 9 a.m. church school, the speaker will be Rev. Stefan A. Liddell, a minister with Family Time Baptist Church & Ministries. At 10 a.m. worship, the minister will be the Rev. Liddell Jordan of First Missionary Baptist Church.


Unity Christian Fellowship Church, 2712 S. Bay St., will host a Welcoming The Comminity Day from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21. Participants will hear about the ministry’s community programs.


Union Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, 1121 Persimmon St., will present its family and friends day at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Cecil Coleman of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church of Marianna.


Watkin Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 800 S. Juniper St., will present an appreciation program for the pastor’s wife, Debra Jones, at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21. The guest speaker will be Donna Laws of New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church at Altheimer. Musical guests include Spiritually Divine, Devin & Spiritually Driven and Nu Image 3.


Youth


New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 1026 Missouri St., will present its annual youth day celebration at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22. The guest minister will be the Rev. Rashad Lowe of Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church. The guest choir director will be Keenon Coleman, minister of music at Barraque Street Missionary Baptist Church.
