Brenda Robinson, Jefferson County Extension Homemakers president, welcomed members and guests to the Jefferson County Extension Homemakers Summer Picnic and Bingo.
The annual event was held in the extension service conference room, which was decorated in a picnic decor featuring flowers in a Mason jar.
The group had a morning of bingo which was coordinated by Connie Herrin, Debbie James and Dixie Fritz, the bingo caller.
A special “Thank You” was given to Herrin for obtaining a large variety of bingo prizes and sponsors.

After the blessing by Margaret Thomas, the group was treated to a pot luck luncheon featuring hamburgers and hot dogs grilled by John Aronowitz, Dale Payton, Bob Rosen and Jim Wilson.
The Extension Homemakers brought an assortment of picnic food. They also brought non-perishable food items to be divided among four local food pantries as their community service project.
A raffle was held for a huge flower pot filled with prizes. Jo Ann Carr was the winner.
Robinson thanked Cheri Aronowitz-Picnic Chairman and Herrin-Bingo Sponsors and Prizes.
The group was reminded that the Holiday Foods Event will be held starting at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8, at St Joseph’s Catholic Church’s Gallagher Hall.
